Of course we all want to stay by the fire in this weather - and there’s nothing wrong with that. But when that’s all we do, well, our bodies pay the price. Joints that don’t move regularly get stiff, skin that isn’t oxygenated with circulation becomes dehydrated, and bodies that sit in ‘tech posture’ all day (slumped forward over a computer) have nothing to counteract that posture (i.e. exercise) so remain in that shape even when away from the computer.
So the best thing you can do for your body, not to mention longevity, is to move - just a bit. You don’t have to walk for miles, or subject yourself to serious weight-lifting (though that’s fine if you want to). Anything that allows the spine and joints to move, preferably through full range, that offers resistance to challenge muscles and addresses good postural habits - that’d be just fine.
At Wirral Pilates & Movement Centre we have something that does all that - Reformer Pilates! Come and join the smart movers.
Some extra news….
Due to increased demand we’re now holding an 11.05 am class on Saturdays. We’ll see how this goes for March and, if necessary, will reschedule the Intro Class that was in that time slot. So during March there will be no Saturday Intro Classes but the Thursday 7.05 pm Intro’s will continue to run as scheduled.
